高齢者と外国人若者の"共生住宅"とは
前回取り上げた韓国の「高齢者と若者の共生住宅」について、「どういう形態の住宅？」「韓国のどこにあるの？」といった質問や、「私の場合は･･･」などといった体験談が知人や友人から寄せられた。
友人の健治は、韓国での日本語教師の任期が切れた後も「もう少し韓国語を勉強したい」と、安く滞在できる住まい探しをした時の話を聞かせてくれた。部屋を探している話を聞いた教え子の一人が、「年老いた母と妹がいますけど、家に下宿しませんか」と誘ってくれた。部屋は６畳程度の板の間、朝晩２食付き、しかも下宿代は格安の条件。問題は、母親が外国人を家の中に入れることに反対していたことだったが、母親は息子に説得され、その日本人の若者に実際会って気持ちも変わり下宿させる事にした。
外国人若者との同居生活が始まった。家にいることが多く時間を持て余している彼女にとっては、韓国語の勉強がしたいという健治はもってこいの時間潰しの相手となった。また健治にとっても彼女は、無料で韓国語を延々と時間を気にせず教えてくれる最高の先生であった。たまに健治は授業代として、彼女の肩を揉んであげたと言う。
外国人下宿人の例は別として、韓国では下宿人への間貸しはよくあることで、賃貸借の一つになっている。日本ではほとんど見かけなくなった"下宿"という賃貸借が、韓国ではいまでも定着しているのはなぜだろうか。
韓国人が共同生活スタイルの下宿に抵抗が少ないのは、もしかすると"儒教の教え"や"相互扶助精神"、また男子においては軍隊時代の徹底した"上下関係教育"と"共同生活体験"が原因しているのかもしれない。
"下宿"という賃貸借を単なる部屋の貸借にとどめるのではなく、一つ屋根の下の血縁関係以外の共同生活スタイルとして、日本で復活させても面白いのではないだろうか。それが、日本人の高齢者と外国人若者の下宿屋となれば、お互いに言葉や文化の交換もでき、高齢者は若者と同居することで「安心」でき、外国人は異国で「快適な住まい」の確保ができるかもしれない。そんな異文化共生下宿があったらいい

Hello just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Safari.
